Stroke Resource Guide

Welcome to the Minnesota Stroke Association Stroke Resource Guide!

Stroke, as we all know, changes lives. Not only the lives of stroke survivors, but also their families, acquaintances, employers and friends. Navigating the innumerable resources following any medical upheaval can be daunting; even knowing the right questions to ask can be a challenge.

This publication is intended to be not only a listing of resources for stroke survivors, but also a guide to becoming a stronger self-advocate throughout stroke recovery whether you experienced the stroke yourself or are acting on behalf of a loved one.

We hope this resource guide can help.

This guide is not intended to take the place of actual medical advice. Any questions you have regarding your health or the health of the one you love should always be addressed with a family physician and any life threatening symptoms should be treated at an appropriate medical facility.

However, the Minnesota Stroke Association offers access to the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance Resource Facilitation program: a free, two-year phone based program that connects you to people who can help you find resources in your area of Minnesota. They can be reached Monday through Friday by calling 763-553-0088.

Thank you for using this Resource Guide.
